Gainesville, FL to GA. Border 15 miles south of St. George
62 miles

We got a late start today due to rain.  A severe storm blew through town this morning so we didn't get on the bike until 12pm.  It was by far the most windy day of the trip.   We had consistent side and head wind at 20 to 25 mph.  If you're a cyclist, you know how hard that can be. 

Our goal was to make it to GA. today and we accomplished the mission.  We even had time for a congratulatory picture front of the Welcome to GA sign. 

Since we have started the trip, each of us have specialized in certain areas to benefit the group.  I, Jin , am the captain of the team.  I just make sure nothing blows up within the team and I am responsible for the route to Alaska.  Glenn is the vice president of beverages.  He makes sure we each get two bottles of Gatorade as well as any alcoholic beverages.  Josh is the vice president of accommodations.  He makes sure we have a "safe" place to sleep every night.  This organization seems to be working well so I hope it lasts.

We were a 1/2 mile from the border and Josh stopped at a gas station on the FL side and met Nichole White.  She put us up for the night in her beautiful backyard.   St. Mary's River runs right behind the house.  This river separates  FL and GA.  It's pretty cool to see FL  from her backyard.  She invited us in for dinner and the whole family greeted us warmly and fed us.  We had BBQ ribs and potatoes, and salad.   To think we were only 1/2 mile from sleeping in the great outdoors next to HWY 121, good job Josh.  To the White family, thank you very much for the hospitality.

I like to thank everyone who has donated to LAF.  It means a lot to us and the organization.  Thank you again.
