Arco, ID to Hayspur Campground (Silver Creek), ID
58 miles

Sorry about keeping the blog so plain yesterday.  The winds of Idaho
frankly knocked the wind out of me.
It wasn't all bad.  Throughout yesterday's ride, we rode through INL
area.  INL stands for Idaho National Laboratory.  The first experimental
nuclear power plant as well as the first nuclear submarine propulsion
system was created here.  In fact, the town of Arco, where we stayed last
night, was the first town in the world to derive electricity from a
nuclear power plant.  Pretty cool.

Today's ride took us through the Craters of the Moon National Monument.
The whole place is so surreal.  The entire monument is an ancient lava
flow field forming hills, tubes, and caves.  It really looks like
you're on a different planet.  Highly recommend a visit here if you also
visit the Yellowstone area.

To battle the winds, we have to play smart.  We noticed that the sun at
high noon position always kicks the winds around.  Today, we got up at
5 AM and we were on the bike by 6 AM. We'll keep doing this until we
get out of Idaho or whenever the winds stop.

The effort paid off today.  We had steady winds the whole time on the
ride and by 1 PM, we had 58 miles in. That's using the one brain cell we
have left.

Thanks everyone for wishing me a birthday.  I am now 23 or 32!?

Good night.
