McKleese Lake, BC to Cinema, BC
70 miles

I had no clue Canada could get so hot. The temperature reached 90+
degrees today. That's pretty hot considering how far north we are.

The ride was beautiful as usual. Although we haven't hit the big
mountains yet, these rolling mountains are still tough on a bicycle. It's
up and down all day but the grades are very mellow. It's certainly
ridable but work is still involved.

We are addicted to soft drinks. It's horrible but we have 6 to 7 cans
per day, each. It's the sugar we get but also because it's cold.
Since we're buying so much drinks, it's breaking into the food budget. As
a last resort, I think I am going to purchase a cooler and buy the
drinks 12 at a time and get ice from restaurants. It's bulky and heavy but
I figure I'm strong enough now and having a cold drink anytime would
simply be priceless.

We made it into Cinema where a grocery store offers free camping.
Works for me. Tomorrow, we're shooting for Prince George where we plan to
take a day off.

Once we get to Prince George we have 1863 miles via Alaskan Hwy or
1733 via Cassiar. Which ever route we take, we are overall right where we
what to be. Barring any bad weather, health or mechanical problems,
we should be in Alaska on the 16th or 17th of August.

We still have a ways to go so I don't want to think too much about Alaska.
I just plan to enjoy tomorrow's ride.

Good night.

1 mile at a time...
