Burns Lake, BC to Houston, BC
57 miles

We are starting to enter the piedmont area of the Coastal Mountains.
We can just start to see the snow capped mountain in the distance.
Luckily, the climbs shouldn't be any bigger than what we been climbing. The
views and the wildlife will certainly get grander.

We are entering the lumber capitol of the world. Houston has the
world's largest lumber mill. In fact, they can process 100 semi-trucks per
shift. By the way, they all drive over 80mph. I know, 100 blow by me
everyday. Anyway, we will take a plant tour there tomorrow.

We rolled in not knowing where we're going to camp as usual. We
checked out the local law enforcement, fire station, city park, and everything
in between. We must have looked like lost puppies because Naomi,
owner of a local pub (Happy Jacks Pub), asked where we were staying. She
helped by driving around town looking for a safe place. She did the
scoping for us.

She found a place behind a catholic church. She also invited us to her
pub for a drink and dinner on her. Yes!..

She even contacted her brother and we're staying with him in two days
in Kitwanga. What an angel. Thank you very much.

Mosquitoes are draining my blood supply. For all who are interested in
Canada, please bring an extra pint of blood. These boys will suck you
dry.

Good night.

1 mile at a time...
