Jade City, BC to Junction Hwy 37 and Hwy 1, Yukon Territory (YT)
75 miles

Yukon Territory!! It takes a lot to get here. To be exact, 3 weeks
from the time we entered Canada. Since we've only gone 2 miles from
BC-YT border, there isn't much I can tell you about this place. We're
camping behind a closed down weigh station for truckers tonight. We got
into town a little late so we had to eat at Sally's Cafe which was
actually really good.

We have moved from too many mosquitoes to black flies, and now it's
gnats. I accidentally left my zipper to my tent just a little open and
about 50 gnats managed to get in. It was slaughter house in here as I
had to kill everyone of them. They are quick too so the job took a while.

The weather held out for a couple of days but it seems like rain is
back. Rain sucks. I'll leave it at that.

We're actually having a little problem stocking up on food. I can only
carry 2 days worth at a time and services are 200 to 300 miles apart.
There are gas stations here and there but all they sell are chips and
candy. We're forced to do some long miles to get supplies. I feel a
century coming on.

Whitehorse, capitol of YT, is our next big stop. From there, it will
be pretty sparse until Anchorage.

I have miscalculated my finances, I didn't account for the fact that
Canada would be so expensive. $1.75 for a can of coke and $2.00 for one
small hotdog, come on!! Maybe I shouldn't be eating this stuff for
health reasons. I'll need a job quick when I get back!

Good night.
